Christus is the biography of Jesus of Nazareth, from his birth in Bethlehem to his death on Calvary. The film is divided into three parts, called " Mysteries ". The first Mystery includes the arrival of Jesus, the Magi, Herod and Pilate, the massacre of the innocents and the flight into Egypt. The second mystery includes the preaching at the Jordan, the episodes of the adulteress, the expulsion of the merchants from the temple and the triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The third mystery is in turn divided into three parts: the Passion, Death and Resurrection.

The new score, written by Marco Frisina , is a reinterpretation of the expressive  masterpiece of  Antamoro . The musical language is close to that of the time of the film, or 1916. While the wealth of images has required a large orchestra with the participation of a choir; on the other hand, the mysticism of some moments suggested the use of some of the themes of the ancient Gregorian repertoire able to emphasize the spirituality of the film.

For the 57th Venice International Film Festival of Art , the Venice Biennale , on the occasion of the presentation of this film was performed the soundtrack composed by Maestro Monsignor Marco Frisina and transcribed for two pianos in sync with the images.
